The Benefits of Stone Countertops in Your Home

When you decide to remodel your home, or are building a new home, you will want to consider all of the pros and cons of the different types of countertops that you can have installed. Common materials that are used in countertops range from the synthetic solid to ceramic tiles. However, one of the most popular types of countertops is stone.

People look to install a stone countertop for several reasons. One of the most popular reasons is that each counter will be completely unique. The reason for this uniqueness is because each countertop is made of natural stone. The stone countertop that is installed in your home will be specifically cut to the correct size and then polished to protect the top layer from potential chipping. On top of the uniqueness of each countertop, are the different color schemes of each stone and then various stone types themselves. Countertops can be made from granite, onyx, travertine, limestone, and quartz, among others.

Another popular reason for getting stone countertops is simply endurance, they are extremely durable. Hot pans, common kitchen wares, cleaners, and many other types of utensils have very little-if any-effect on these kinds of countertops. These unique tops are the perfect family surface. Crafts, cooking, homework, bill paying, and many other family and home centered activities can all be done on these countertops with ease.

Furthermore, stone countertops can easily fit into anyone’s personal style and decor. From the many stones options to the many different colors of each stone, there is always a top that will fit into your home perfectly. When you start the process of buying a stone countertop it is a good idea to take home several small samples of the different styles and colors you like. This will allow for you to be certain of your choice. After all, things usually look different in the store than they do at home.

Stone countertops, apart from being durable, are a very beautiful finishing touch for your home’s kitchen or bathroom. The uniqueness, functionality, and durability of each countertop make them a well placed investment no matter what kind of stone you choose to buy.

Why Hire a Professional Installer?

Once you have found the stone countertop you wish to have installed in your home, it is time to begin the installation process. Specifically cut countertops are usually ready to be installed within three weeks, which includes the time needed to apply the professional grade seal that is used to protect them from harm. From there a professional installer will quickly and effectively install your new stone countertops.

It is very important for the countertop to be installed properly in order for the other structural components to not be damaged. For example, if the countertop is incorrectly installed the cabinet wood could be split, the plumbing could be damaged, or any other number of things.

Accidents happen, and not only will the installer be able to handle any situation that is likely to come their way but they will be able to do so effectively. Should the installer accidently damage the stone countertop or any other part of the kitchen or bathroom it is likely that the company will compensate for the damages and perhaps even replace damaged pieces. Most of these agreements are developed and agreed upon before installation, which is why you should make certain you understand the terms of business.

Hiring a professional installer is recommended because the installer is trained and knowledgeable in handling stone countertops and installing them with care. The installer will be able to save you money in the long run due to accident compensation on their part or just by avoiding accidents by trying to install countertops yourself. An installer will be able to help you save both time and money by doing the heavy lifting and taking the responsibility for any construction accidents.

New Technologies in Stone Countertop Production and Installation

Stone countertops have quickly become one of the most popular types of countertops installed in today’s homes. Many homeowners choose stone countertops for their durability, variety, and beauty as well as the added value they can bring to their home should they decide to sell the home later on. Since these countertops are so popular, companies put in a substantial amount of effort in developing new technologies to further their production and installation.

The process of producing stone countertops starts with grinding up raw stones. The stones are then heated and rejoined in a flat, impenetrable surface. From there the countertop is cut and treated with sealers. This process is often considered a controlled step-by-step production. The development of new technologies makes it even more controlled by adding more efficiency and safety to the entire process.

New technologies for the installation of stone countertops are also considered to be very important. The types of saws, caulking, and other materials that are used in the installation process are important because they keep the installer safe and you and your family safe later on. The last thing anyone wants is for their stone countertop to fall apart. By using the right materials and developing new technologies companies are able to continuously provide better and better installation services.

Stone countertop production and installation is rising in demand each year. New technologies not only allow for these demands to be met but they allow for companies to provide high quality products in a timely manner and as safely as possible. Also, companies are continuously developing more effective home sealers and cleaners in order for the stone countertops to be kept in good condition for longer.

New technologies for stone countertop production and installation mean that you-the customer-are receiving high quality products for the best price available. The more these technologies develop the better the production, installation, and maintenance processes become. This, in turn, will actually help to lower the prices of stone countertops and increase the value of your home once they are installed and kept in good condition.

Amanzi Staff,

A great big THANKS!!

The counter tops look great!! Boy, what a difference it made in our kitchen! It looks like a new kitchen now—and we wonder why we waited so long to do the upgrade!?

Every morning when I walk into the kitchen, I look at the counter tops and think WOW!! It really has changed the look of our kitchen! :)

Thanks to Kim for being patient with us as we walked the lot over and over (and over) trying to pick just the right granite! It was a cold day and we had two small children and Kim was kind and patient.

Thanks to Omar too for his help! He has a wonderful staff, a nice showroom, and many, many choices—which made our job a little harder trying to choose just the right color to compliment our kitchen and home!

We will use Amanzi again in the future—and we recommend them to everyone!

Sincerely,
Graham & Christi Long

New Advancements in Stone Counterops

Because stone countertops are so popular in the general market there is a significant amount of effort used developing new technologies to produce, install, and maintain these kinds of countertops. New advancements in stone countertops allow for a higher quality of product to be put on the market as well as to allow for previously unusable materials to be introduced.

The production of stone countertops involves grinding, heating, and then rejoining raw stones that are mined from around the world. During this process a flat, solid, and nearly impenetrable surface is created, which then becomes the stone countertop to be installed in someone’s home. New advancements involving this process and the technologies it requires make each step of the process quicker, safer, and cheaper. This means the overall price of the stone countertop goes down in the market.

Advancements in maintaining countertops help to make previously difficult materials more feasible to use. Onyx is a prime example of a stone requiring a lot of upkeep compared to other natural stone countertops available. Many people choose to invest in onyx because of its beauty but its fragility often makes it difficult to keep in good condition. Developments of home sealers and cleaners make onyx a more practical addition to any home.

New advancements in other but related fields such as mining also allow for the price of stone countertops to go down. As the technology in mining improves, more raw stone becomes available to the manufacture. Meaning stone countertop producers can be more selective about which stones they use. In turn, this selectiveness allows for the production of a higher quality product as well as for an increase in product overall.

As more and more advancements are created and developed, stone countertops not only become more readily available, they become more affordable as well. These developments allow you to find incredible deals on beautiful countertops and to keep them in good condition longer. Not only that but these new advancements make production and installation much safer for the producers, the installers, and for yourself and your family.
